The design for the extension and renovation of the Brücke Museum is conceived as a careful continuation and reinterpretation of the architectural language, spatial logic, and relationship of the existing museum to the surrounding woodland. Instead of formulating a contrast between old and new, the design develops a continuous architectural dialogue in which the spatial qualities of the existing structure are translated into a contemporary design that supports the future development of the museum.
